A "venture" is an idea that you come up with that you could offer to make society better.
1) Candy Shop
- One of my favourite things to eat is candy. I love everything from chocolate to sour 5 cent candies. Therefore, one of my venture ideas would be to open a candy store in DT. Everyone loves candy, and opening a store on the campus would be a great idea. But, on the downside, there would be some high start up costs, and looking for a place to open this store would be difficult. Also, there is the Canada Food Health Guidline, which may stop this project, due to the high calories of the products. On the upside, this store would be offered to students and teachers of DT. Products would range from chocolate, and caramel to skittles, and starburst, to sour peaches and watermelon slices.
2) Sporting Good Store
- Many people at this school are athletic, and play on school teams. My second venture idea would to open a sporting good store within the walls of DT. Things like basketballs, soccer balls, cleats, jerseys, hockey sticks, and helmets would be sold at this store. Once again, the problem of high start-up costs, and locations would be difficult. And purchasing these goods would be extremely high, and prices would probably be the same as "Sport Chek," with some exceptions. There would be a promotion every other week promoting the sales of jerseys, hockey sticks, etc. For example, one week it may be a "buy one, get one free" week. And this store would be for everyone within DT.
